Speaker Bio
Edilah “EJ” Jordan is a visionary climate leader, strategic changemaker, and community champion who currently serves as the Senior Director of the Transformative Communities program at Dream.org. In this role, she leads bold initiatives to ensure historically overlooked communities benefit from climate investments. With a strategic focus on environmental justice, equity, and economic opportunity, Edilah builds and stewards powerful cross-sector partnerships with local governments, community-based organizations, and financial institutions to deliver climate solutions that center the needs of communities on the frontlines of poverty and pollution.
Her leadership directly contributed to two communities securing a combined $39 million in EPA Community Change Grants—milestones rooted in her deep commitment to listening, building trust, and delivering the technical support that community partners ask for and need. Nationally, Edilah is known for showing up with integrity, authenticity, and a collaborative spirit that turns possibility into progress.
Amidst nationwide climate funding freezes, Edilah created and launched a scalable technical assistance platform that both strengthened collaboration with other TA providers and positioned Dream.Org as a valuable, strategic partner among GGRF awardees and local governments. This platform has also secured private funder interest and supports community readiness and climate resilience through accessible, equity-centered education and training. The relationships Edilah cultivated with community partners provided the stories that shaped the Make It Real story campaign. Her engagement with local government leaders and community stakeholders in Pittsburgh opened doors for Dream.Org’s Tech team to build a workforce initiative in partnership with the city.
Born into the foster care system, Edilah's early experiences instilled in her a lifelong commitment to community resilience. She began her professional journey with Habitat for Humanity International, leading sustainable housing initiatives both domestically and abroad. Her work included managing community development projects and ensuring compliance with LEED standards—experiences that shaped her holistic view of equity, housing, and climate. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and has pursued extensive leadership training, including with Landmark Worldwide and the Dementia Connection Specialist Certification. She currently serves on the board of the Dementia Dignified Academy and is an emerging voice in legislative advocacy, focused on defending climate investments in key states like Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, California, and Arkansas.
Edilah is a dynamic speaker and transformational leader who weaves strategy, lived experience, and systems-level thinking to drive sustainable change—and invites others to build a more equitable future with her.
