Maria Langston serves as the AVP of Strategic Initiatives for St. Louis Community Credit Union (SLCCU). In this capacity, she is responsible for operationalizing efforts which fund, support, and advance interventions designed to decrease racial and economic inequity throughout the St. Louis region. Maria began her journey with credit unions in 2013 as the executive director of the Missouri Credit Union Foundation where she managed a statewide CDFI collaboration. Prior to joining the credit union movement, Maria was the executive director at Children’s Miracle Network of Greater St. Louis for twelve years working beside credit union professionals including oversight of the Credit Union for Kids program.
As an active member of the community development sector, Maria shares his expertise through a variety of advisory and board positions. She serves as president of the board of directors for the LifeWise STL, as well as a member of the Maplewood Human Services Commission and is a former president of the Maplewood-Richmond Heights Board of Education and a member of the State Credit Union Foundation network.
