Speaker Bio
Ed Sivak is the President of Hope Enterprise Corporation, the primary sponsor of Hope Credit Union (HOPE). As President, Sivak leads the teams that drive the organization’s policy and advocacy agenda, its communications with key stakeholders, investor relations, human assets, and corporate administration. Since 2016, Sivak has been an active member of the Inclusiv Government Affairs Committee, serving as Chair since 2020. He has also been a panelist at several Inclusiv conferences serving as an Advocacy, Communications and Impact Monitoring expert.
Over his 24-year career with HOPE, Sivak has provided testimony numerous times to state and federal policymakers on issues affecting people living in under resourced communities and represented credit unions as an advisor to the Federal Reserve Board, and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. He also led the development of HOPE’s systems to track the effectiveness of HOPE’s service to formerly unbanked members, its Borrow and Save program, its mortgage lending program to women and first-time home buyers, and gains associated with HOPE’s small business lending. These systems have been leveraged to attract millions of dollars in investment for the credit union from banks, foundations, corporations and government. He also played a vital role in working with HOPE to achieve the Juntos Avanzamos designation of the organization’s branches in Arkansas and Tennessee.
As a member of the Inclusiv Board, Sivak draws on his experience in the community development financial institution (CDFI) sector to leverage the power of Inclusiv’s collective voice in Congress and within the larger network of CDFIs to increase access to capital for community development credit unions. Sivak holds graduate degrees in public policy and administration from Jackson State University and Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts from Marquette University.
