Daniel Betancourt is the President and CEO of Finanta. Since 1999, Daniel has been leading the organization’s transformation into a high-impact, nationally recognized Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) advancing economic opportunity. Under his leadership, Finanta has grown to manage over $250 million in capital under management, securing significant investments, including New Markets Tax Credits, to support small businesses, affordable housing, and community development.
A steadfast advocate for financial inclusion, Daniel led the launch of Finanta Credit Union in 2022. With a focus on expanding access to safe, reliable, and inclusive financial services, Finanta Credit Union provides a critical banking alternative for those excluded from the traditional financial system.
Daniel has over 30 years of related experience. Daniel’s advocacy has allowed him to testify before the U.S. Senate and House Small Business Committees, the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, and the FDIC/CDFI Fund Conference—championing policies that increases access to capital for underserved entrepreneurs.
