Oscar Guzmán is a seasoned expert in economic development and financial inclusion, with over 30 years of international experience across Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe. His work has contributed to expanding access to financial services and economic opportunities for women, youth, smallholder farmers, entrepreneurs, indigenous communities, and migrants. He currently serves as Regional Director for Latin America at the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU), having previously held leadership roles including Project Director in Peru, Colombia, and Ecuador, and Program Manager for initiatives spanning Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Mr. Guzmán also holds Chair position in Coonecta and Board Member in organizations advancing digital financial services. In addition to his professional engagements, he has taught at multiple academic institutions and the Boulder Institute of Microfinance, and has authored numerous publications. As an international consultant, he has led projects in more than 30 countries, providing strategic and technical advisory services in inclusive finance. Oscar Guzmán holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador and a Master’s degree in Finance from the University Carlos III of Madrid.
