Melissa Marquez is the Chief Executive Officer of Genesee Co-op Federal Credit Union in Rochester, NY, a 43-year-old community development credit union & CDFI with $45 million in assets and 4500 members. Melissa has been with Genesee Co-op for 21 years and is retiring from her position in June. Melissa was previously a Loan Officer and managed a start-up credit union for 8 years. Melissa received the Annie Vamper Helping Hands Award in 2024. Melissa has a MS in Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University and a BS in Political Science from Santa Clara University. Melissa has worked in the field of grassroots cooperative economics for her entire career.
