I am a native of Shreveport, Louisiana married to Shonda Reynolds, together we have 3 daughters: Johari, Promise, Kerrington;1 son-in-law, and I am a proud grandfather. I grew up in Queensborough neighborhood and graduated from Caddo Parish Magnet High School. I received a B. A. in the College of Science with a degree in Psychology from The University of New Orleans. I hold an insurance license in Life, Health, Accident and Variable Annuities. I am a graduate of the Community Development Institute at the University of Central Arkansas. In the Financial Industry for 26 years, I currently serve as Chief Commercial Officer of Carter Credit Union. I have been a guest speaker at multiple financial workshops, webinars, and panels for several organizations including the Small Business Administration, Small Business Development Center, Louisiana Economic Development, Peaceful Rest MBC, The African American Chamber of Commerce, The Community Development Institute, and Southern University Business Incubator to name a few. I have facilitated various lending and treasury transactions in multiple capacities for national and international organizations; from providing them access to capital, to consulting and advising CEOs and CFOs within those organizations. This experience was developed during my tenure at Regions Bank and has broadened at Carter Credit Union. During the 2022 Louisiana State Legislative Session I was able to successfully assist in getting HB1005 passed to become Act 194 that will allow Excess Share Insurance to be sold to credit unions in the state of Louisiana, creating opportunities for Louisiana Credit Unions to obtain and insure large deposits in excess of $250,000. I have received various awards during my career recognizing my service to the community and rewarding my accomplishments as a banker and business leader. I am the 2017 recipient of The Top Business Professional of the Year by the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce Business Development Connection; 2024 recipient of the Micro Lender of the Year Award from Louisiana Economic Development; 2025 recipient of the Trailblazer Award from the Shreveport Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce. My entrepreneurial experience includes Owner of Reynolds Resources, Louisiana Daiquiri Café partner, FAR Associates partner, Co-Owner of Nine23 Enterprises, Co-Founder of FAR Development Foundation, and Co-owner of 957 Daiquiri Bar in Accra, Ghana. I am an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., previously serving as President and Area Director. I serve on several boards in the community including but not limited to: The Committee of 100, Volunteers of America, North Louisiana Economic Partnership, Shreveport Airport Authority, past Chair of the Bossier Chamber of Commerce, and past Chairman of the Shreveport Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce. Assisting in the growth and development of minority businesses and professionals is what I like most about my service within the community
