Pre-Conference Workshops

$1.87 billion Inclusiv Green Lending Grants for CUs

Apply for a grant from Inclusiv’s $1.87 billion Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) Clean Communities Accelerator (CCIA) program to support green lending in low-income and disadvantaged communities. Green loans benefit credit unions by expanding membership, diversifying loan portfolios, and reducing disproportionately high energy cost burden in CDCU communities. This workshop will highlight how credit union green lending programs work, and how your credit union can apply for an Inclusiv CCIA grant to launch or grow green lending.

Breaking Down Barriers to Serving Immigrant Communities

Build your credit union’s capacity to better serve immigrant communities. This workshop addresses how to remove internal barriers, create a safe and welcoming environment, and establish long-term relationships that gain the trust of immigrant members. Participants will learn best practices to serve immigrant communities more effectively by crafting inclusive MIP policies, enhancing underwriting guidelines, and connecting with partners like Consulates and international credit unions to expand their reach.

Building Strong Financial Coaching Programs

Financial empowerment programs and services like financial coaching can strengthen the financial well-being of your members and community. This workshop is tailored for Community Development Credit Unions (CDCUs) seeking to launch a new financial coaching program or strengthen an existing one. Participants will explore best practices in program design, resource requirements, and implementation strategies. Attendees will leave equipped with actionable strategies to advance financial empowerment through financial coaching programming.

High Impact Lending

Create transformative change in underserved communities through targeted lending practices. This workshop will focus on how credit unions can drive economic empowerment by financing affordable housing, small businesses, green loans, and other critical community needs. Learn from experts as they present innovative and case studies to demonstrate how high-impact lending can create lasting positive outcomes, reduce financial inequities, and foster sustainable growth.

The Sandbox – CDFI Certification and your Community Development Credit Union

Explore and discuss the CDFI Fund’s updated certification standards and their impact on your credit union. This workshop invites CDFI-certified credit unions and those interested in pursuing CDFI certification to discuss new standards and reporting obligations. Participants will share strategies for aligning certification with their commitment to community development and financial inclusion while exchanging ideas, best practices, and developing innovative solutions with leading CDFI practitioners.
