Tom Schulte is Vice President of Mortgage at Community 1st Credit Union, headquartered in Ottumwa, Iowa. With 16 years of experience in the real estate and mortgage industry, Tom has built a career focused on helping individuals and families achieve homeownership.

Tom began his credit union career in 2012 as a Mortgage Loan Officer and has led Community 1st Credit Union’s mortgage department since 2018. Community 1st serves more than 70,000 members across Iowa and Missouri with 23 branches throughout southern Iowa.

Passionate about the industry, Tom has served on many affordable lending groups and is a past President of the Iowa Mortgage Association. He lives in Cedar Rapids with his wife and two children. To unwind from the wearisome world of mortgage lending, Tom enjoys playing hockey and performing in a local Irish band.
