New this year, credit union site visits will now feature a workshop component—pairing hands-on learning with immersive experiences at local credit unions. Each visit highlights a different aspect of what it means to Stand Strong and Build Forward through connection, culture, and community. Attendees will engage directly with credit union leaders, explore innovative partnerships, and see impact in action across the Portland area.
Building Through Connection:
A Visit to Ironworkers USA Federal Credit Union

Led by Teri Robinson, CEO of Ironworkers USA FCU and 2025 Herb Wegner Memorial Award Winner, attendees will dive into lessons on authentic marketing, outreach, and the power of finding your network of support. The site visit culminates with a live ironworker demonstration, a powerful celebration of the strength and solidarity that define this community.

A Visit to Point West Credit Union

Explore how Point West is actively confronting the legacy of gentrification and rebuilding authentic connections with the surrounding neighborhood. Through partnerships with 501(c)(3) organizations, legislators, and trusted community spaces, Point West advances advocacy, equity, and community restoration rooted in lived experience. The visit will feature conversations with local partners and include stops at Curious Comedy Club and MESO Makers Market—community‑centered venues located on the property that support inclusive storytelling, creativity, and connection. This year’s visit also coincides with the 10‑year anniversary of Point West's Juntos Avanzamos Designation, celebrating a decade of commitment to financial empowerment and community partnership. The site visit will include remarks from a special dignitary, underscoring the broader impact of this work. The experience concludes with direct transportation to the Inclusiv reception, allowing attendees to seamlessly continue the evening’s celebrations without missing a moment.

The afternoon will begin with a recap of key conference takeaways, followed by remarks from President & CEO Steve Stapp on how Unitus is Standing Strong and Building Forward through their Juntos Avanzamos journey and annual recommitment to financial inclusion, which is brought to life each year through community celebration and roundtable conversations. Attendees will then enjoy a reception with local hors d’oeuvres and entertainment, along with guided tours of Unitus’ Business Center.
